India are scheduled to play only two Tests — against Bangladesh in January — in the next 11 months and a proposal to include two Tests in South Africa’s tour to the country in February is being considered by the two boards.

Dhoni though said his side will play more than four Test matches next year.

“Quite a few Test matches are being proposed and I don’t think that we will play only four Tests next year. We will play more than that,” he said after receiving the ICC Test Championships mace from chief executive Haroon Lorgat here.

“It is a spacial feeling to receive this mace. I am taking this on behalf of the team and BCCI. Being an Indian it is a proud moment. We have really worked hard as a team in the last 14 months to get to this position. We want to remain here longer and everything depends on our performance,” he added.

Lorgat, on his part, said he would be happy if the South African and Indian Cricket Boards can work out on having the two Tests in February.

“Under FTP two countries will have to work out their bilateral series in four or six years time. It is upto them when to visit each other considering their interest. I would be happy if the proposal for inclusion of the two Tests in February is through. India deserved to be a Test number one side,” he said.

The ICC Chief Executive said India had dominated world cricket in the past 14 months Tests as well as one-dayers.

“In the last 14 months India has been dominating the world. In October 2008 India was ranked third in ICC Test Championships and in the last 14 months has risen to number one. It would be fantastic if South Africa and India world’s two top teams play each other in February,” he said.

“In the ODI also, India is now ranked number two. Then you have Gautam Gambhir at the top of ICC Test batsmen ranking while Dhoni is on top in ODI chart. Dhoni is the ICC ODI player of the year for two consecutive years and chosen captain of both the ICC Test and ODI teams of the year.

“Then you have Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid who have immensely contributed to this transition. It reflects on the talent you can boast of. India has players who after a few years will be considered as legends of the game,” Lorgat said.

India is the third team after Australia and South Africa to have become the number Test side after their 2-0 series victory over Sri Lanka early this month.

Dhoni refused to compare India’s numero uno status in Test with their inaugural Twenty20 World Cup triumph.

“I don’t believe in comparisons. But T20 triumph was about a tournament. If players are in form in a tournament you can win it. But in Test Championships you play consistently well for a period of time in a tough competition and you reach the top. It is special as we reached the top from a lower position. Our priority now in the coming months is to prove we are capable of staying on top as we are at reaching it,” he said.

Asked if fast bowling is an area of concern considering Zaheer Khan seemed to be not getting enough support from the other end, Dhoni said he was not losing sleep much on that aspect.

“It is a bit of concern but it is manageable. Ishant Sharma has dropped a bit in form but his talent cannot be questioned. He has taken lots of wickets at a young age. The sub-continental wickets do not help fast bowlers. But when Ishant was not there S Sreesanth came in well and so it is not much of an issue in fast bowling department,” said Dhoni.

The Indian captain also felt that fielding not much of a concern as far as Test cricket is concerned.

“We have some safe hands and some sloppy fielders in the team. But we have not done badly in fielding in Test cricket.

It is not a big area of concern,” he said.

Praising Virender Sehwag for his role in India’s rise in the top spot, Dhoni said the Delhi dashers performance many a times rubbed on other players.

“I don’t want any comparison between him and Vivian Richards. But Viru is a special talent. His confidence level and positive approach is different from other players. His performance rub on other players. For example, Gautam Gambhir or a Virat Kohli play really well when batted with Sehwag.

When I scored my first hundred he was at the other end,” said Dhoni.

Sehwag, who was also present on the occasion, praised Dhoni and coach Gary Kirsten for the confidence they had given to him to play his natural game.

“When I returned to the team after being dropped in 2007 coach Gary (Kirsten) told me that I will not be dropped if I score three zeroes and encouraged me to play my natural game.

“That boosted my confidence. I played well in Australia scoring a hundred there. Then when Australia came here Dhoni said we should dominate them at home. I and Gambhir made good starts against Australia, England and Sri Lanka. If we get a good start with the kind of middle order batting we have we can score 400-500. So full credit to Dhoni and Gary for our achievements.

“When Gary joined us two years back he said our aim was to reach the top of Test rankings and here we are. I am really proud to be part of a great team. I can say that we will work harder under Dhoni and Gary to remain on top as long as possible,” Sehwag said.

“The current bookings will be executed at the price already committed and we have a long way to finish the current bookings. So, it is too early to talk about raising the prices of the Nano,” Tata Motors managing director Prakash M Telang said.

However, when asked if the company could consider increasing the prices of its other models, Telang remained non-committal, he said: “steel and tyre prices are increasing and all manufacturers have to think about it. We are watching the situation very closely. It is difficult to comment it right now.”

In June, the company had selected over 1.55 lakh buyers for its small car wonder Nano, touted as the world’s cheapest car, from a total of 2.06 lakh final applicants. It would deliver the first one lakh cars by March 2010, while the remaining bookings of 55,021 will be delivered in the next phase.

The country’s largest auto company has delivered 13,924 Nanos till November.

Tata Motors had announced that the first one lakh Nano owners would be price-protected at the ex-showroom prices. The Nano is available between Rs 1.23 lakh and Rs 1.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the three different variants.

“When it will come to the next stage of delivery only we will talk about it (price hike). At the moment our focus is to ramp up production,” Telang said.

The company is currently rolling out the Nanos from its Pantnagar plant in Uttaranchal, which has an annual capacity of 50,000 units. The car would also be rolled out from the company’s upcoming Sanand facility in Gujarat once its goes on stream next year.

The Sanand plant will have an initial capacity of 3.5 lakh units a year.

The experimental Google Goggles is one such project: an image-based search service that allows people to submit an image and get Web-based search results pulled from Google’s massive archive of indexed photos and images. It’s currently available only on Android-powered smartphones, but a Google developer is working on a side project to incorporate the same functionality into future versions of the company’s Chrome Web browser.

The concept is simple enough: snap an image with your phone, and let Google Goggles search the Web for results based on the image you’ve submitted. But it’s not always easy to execute.
